African proverb #7

The proverb knowledge is like a garden, if it is not cultivated, it can't be harvested means that if you don't prepare it to be successful than it won't grow or strive for it to succeed. This proverb is true because if you don't prepare or increase your knowledge than it won't be harvest. This proverb can coexist differences. This can help in everyday life because life is mostly based on education and its knowledge.

An example  of this proverb is a foolish person who is not really interested in education. This foolish person doesn't increase their knowledge so that foolish person's brain doesn't function to the best of its ability. The opposite of  this proverb is a wise person who is interested in being the best and increasing their knowledge. With this attitude this wise person will be well educated in the brain and will go far in life. If I had to choose out of these to characteristics I would choose the wise person.

African proverb#6

I think the proverb "A person who knows proverbs can reconcile differences" means if you can comprehend and understand proverbs you can solve or fix problems in life. In school, with peers, and at home. Proverbs are foreshadows to life. It gives you hints on what right and wrong.

It is very easy to comprehend. You just have to think and it will come to you eventually. Proverbs are very helpful in life. The explain problems and situations that you never even thought of. You can solve many problems if you understand proverbs.

African Proverb #5

I think the proverb "the fool speaks, the wise person listens" means that people who talk alot or talk so much that they don't hear talks foolishness. A person who doesn't talk much is very wise. You learn more when you quiet and listening. If you talk alot and don't listen your foolish.

I believe that the wise can learn alot from the foolish but the foolish can't learn from the wise because it constantly talk. I learn more when I don't speak and I look the teacher in the eyes so that I can see where she's coming from and whats the purpose of the lesson. For example in science class I listen to everything Muthora says and if anyone ask me to explain the development of ancient Egyptians civilization I could answer that with no hesitation. This proverb is true and it teaches you to listen. People who talk much talks necessity.

African Proverb #4

I think the proverb "It is better to be loved than feared" means its better to love someone than to put them in fear. This proverb is telling you to love or be nice because its better than to put them in fear. They will have confidence and happiness if you love. On the other hand they would have low self-esteem and hatred towards others because you  put fear in them. Their anger can build up so much that they cause harm to their self all because you put that fear in them.
This can be used in everyday life because you can think about this proverb as your in school and with peers. People only put fear in others because their not happy with their self. You can also use this with siblings. As an older sister I always bullied my sister. As I got older I realize she really looks up to me and I can't teach her into a wrong path. I think this proverb is current and is very helpful.

Extra Cash

You have  an extra $100,000 to give away, you can't spend it on yourself. What would you do with the money and who would you give it to?

If I Anitra Jones had an extra $100,000 and couldn't spend it on myself  I would be very upset. There would be nothing else to do with it but give it away. That's the only thing I can do. I would have to think very hard on who I should give it to because its a good amount of money and you can spend it on anything. As a fair person I would give the money to someone who really is in need of it or who is having financial problems.
After I've been thinking long in hard on the decision who I should give the money to I would give it to two important people which is my mother because she's done so much for  me and she gave me more than 100,000 dollars already and I'm only 12. I'll be 13 in October. I would also give it to the Chinese children who are fighting for there lives everyday. As fair as I am I would split it $50,000 a piece. I'll be satisfied with my decision and be happy because I made wonderful people happy.

African Proverb #3

I think " A brother/sister is like a shoulder means your brother and sister are there for you no matter what. It doesn't necessary mean there your blood sisters or brothers. They can be a real good friend who's like a sister/brother. They're there for you to lean on. So when you describe someone as a shoulder your saying that they're always there for you.

African Proverb #2

I think "Wood may remain 10 years in water but it will never become a crocodile"means you can try to become something much different than who or what you really are but you'll never change because you are you and your not what you're trying to be or want to be. Which means remember who you are. Don't change your colors for no one.

African Proverb

I think "knowledge is better than riches" means or can be explained as intelligence and education is useful or you can go further in life with it other than money, gold, silver(riches). This can be used in everyday life. For instance, if you go to school and get your education and pursue your dream you would probably come out on top. Now if you are rich and you buy a business and make all this money. Without and education you can get cheated out of customers, managers, employees, tax and bill collectors. But if you get your education and open a business you won't get cheated and you'll make more money than the riches because you have knowledge. Riches is just a pretty and valuable cover and knowledge is power inside and out.

08-09 school year

I believe my goals for this school year is to achieve everything I can achieve and get all A's. For example, I want to accomplish getting  all A's because I plan on attending Central High. I know you have to have all A's, B's with an exception of 1 C but I want to achieve more. Unfortunately I didn't. As a result of my lack of achieving excellence in my report card I got A's B's and one C.
Clearly the benefits of attending New Media Technology Charter School is to achieve my goal and going to a higher level in education using technology. Technology is used in every day life and I think its useful. In addition my weakest subject was science and my strongest was math last year. Science was my weakest because I wasn't interested. I didn't learn much in science. My strongest was math because math is a challenge and I0 love challenges. However, I plan to achieve my goal to getting all A's.
